And here the description for download and installation of the free 30-days-trial version of Visual Extend. You have to follow these steps in all cases as we only can generate a final activation key based on your registration number of the trial version.

Additional information: Beginning with version 9.0 of Visual Extend for Visual FoxPro we do have a local registration wizard which will automatically register you at our website and retrieve activation keys for you as needed via our webservice.

• Download the installation file VFX 8.0 from www.visualextend.de
• Install VFX 8.0 in any Directory (called [VFX-directory] below)
• Start Visual FoxPro 8.0
• Put in the following entries in the menu 'Tools / Options', tab 'File Locations':
  • Builders: [VFX-directory]/builder/vfxbldr.app
  • Startup Program: [VFX-directory]/builder/vfxmnu.app
    • As an alternative (earlier versions), call via 'Command = DO <>' or
      '_STARTUP = < >' in the file Config.fpw (modi file Home()+'config.fpw') of
      Visual FoxPro 8.0
    • Recommended: On the tab 'View', switch off the option 'Open last project on
      startup' and set 'MRU' to zero.
• Restart Visual FoxPro 8.0 (in order to reload the VFX menu)
• Choose the Application Manager (and use the button 'New') or the Application Wizard in the new menu VFX 8.0
  • The registration number of the VFX installation automatically shows up
  • With this code, please visit http://register.visualextend.de and register with the key and e-mail address
  • By e-mail you automatically receive an activation key which is valid 30 days
  • Enter that activation key in the appropriate dialogue
• The trial phase with Visual Extend - now you can test the framework
• Please note: The activation key is being stored in the file VFX8.INI in the Windows directory

After 30 days, you cannot use VisualExtend on that particular computer. Please delete the installation or register for the full version on the website http://register.visualextend.de. As soon as you have ordered a full version there, we send you an invoice of the licence fee (511,- Euros for a full version, 307,- Euros for an update from the directly preceding version. As soon as the payment has been effected, you receive a permanent activation key for your local installation via e-mail.

• The process of billing, payment and distribution of the activation key will take a few days time; therefore we recommend not to wait until the last day of the trial period before making the decision to order. Otherwise you take the risk of several days of a VFX standstill.
  • For a particular system, you can only once obtain a 30 days trial version. Of course it is technically possible to obtain another trial version for another system or a completely re-installed PC system - but regardless of the technical possibilities, this would violate the licence agreement of the trial version as well as the full version.
  • Please note: The activation key of a full version is also valid and working on only one system. If e.g. you have two sytems for one developer, you'll have to order another activation key for the second system. Provided that you settle this beforehand with the dFPUG office (mailto:vfx@dfpug.de), you will not be billed for the second system.

Note: These instructions can also be used for the combination VFX 7.1 / VFP 8.0, VFX 7.0 / VFP 7.0 and VFX 6.0 / VFP 6.0.
